Together with my group, I study the development of social cognition (empathy, perspective taking, trust) in adolescence, and the role of the social environment in this development. We investigate these processes at the level of behaviour (questionnaires, neuropsychological tasks, observation) and the neural mechanisms (fMRI and EEG).

28 januari 2019: Mechanisms of Symptom Formation in Psychosis

Psychose is een heterogene aandoening, die bestaat uit verschillende symptomen, die verschillen in ernst, frequentie en verloop. Dit vormt een uitdaging voor onderzoek naar psychoses. Paula Gromann onderzocht mechanismen van symptoomvorming op verschillende niveaus van het psychosecontinuüm. Zij onderzocht de relatie tussen pesten en niet-klinische psychotische ervaringen bij de algemene bevolking en de dynamiek die ten grondslag ligt aan het diepe gebrek aan vertrouwen, zowel op gedrags- als op neurale niveau, bij gezonde adolescenten vs. volwassenen, bij patiënten en bij eerstegraads familieleden.
